Inca Shamanism Awakening the Luminous Body

Shamanic traditions predate recorded history. The people of the high mountains of Peru known as Qero, are descendants of the Laika, medicine men and women who live and practice these traditions and teachings.

The way the shaman engages in the world is through eyes that see no separation, understanding the seasons and cycles of life, death and renewal. This is why they can say "I am the rivers, the trees, the plants, the stones and the mountains".

Shamanism is not a religion and does not conflict with any organized religion.

It is a lifestyle and healing modality, a way of being.

About 30 years ago the Qero elders were guided to share and speak about the prophecies of the ancestors. The world is changing and evolving and we are developing into Homo Luminous, beings that would grow rainbow bodies of light taking a quantum leap into who we are becoming. The elders speak about the Pacha Cutti, the turning of the world as it comes back into balance.

Principles of Shamanism

The shaman work within the organizing principles of the universe, the forces that create and protect us, known as "Sacred Space". Calling in the four cardinal directions and the earth, the feminine and the heavens, the masculine.

The four directions, South, West, North, East.

The South, the first of the four directions is the way of the serpent. She teaches us to shed our past, as she sheds her skin, all at once. She teaches us non-attachment, non-judgement and non-suffering. She represents the primeval connection to the feminine, essential life force that seeks union and creation, the place where we plant our seeds to grow strong roots. The serpent walks in beauty on the belly of the earth mother.

The West is the way of the Jaguar, representing life, death, renewal and sudden transformation. Jaguar teaches us to walk with integrity and impeccability, allowing us to see into the shadows, to step beyond fear and death. We learn to bring balance and create order out of chaos.

The North is the way of Hummingbird. The hummingbird makes an epic journey and drinks from the sweet sweet nectar of life. She flaps her wings 300 times a second and travels 3000 miles. She steps outside of time and sources from the sacred showing us all the many possibilities.

The East is the way Eagle/Condor, teaching us the ways of vision and clarity. Allowing us to connect with spirit while we see the bigger picture and become our own visionaries. Eagle/Condor encourages us to open our wings and soar.

The Earth, the feminine, nurturing, the power to mulch and regenerate. The place where all life forms live and die.

The Heavens, the masculine, gives balance, structure and order from above connecting us to spirit.

Shamanic treatments

Each session is individualized based on the clients needs. We discuss the reasons you have come for the session and then determine what the best approach is for the issue(s) at hand.

Illuminations

The illumination is the core shamanic practice. Our luminous energy field and our ordinary reality. It informs us predisposes us certain kinds of situations, relationships, recurring patterns and behaviors. It stores imprints of our personal, ancestral, karmic memories, traumas and illnesses. It downloads information to our energy centers and into our central nervous system. The illumination process clears the energy field so that we are no longer sourcing from the old patterns and behaviors. It is like a spring cleaning!

Soul Retrieval

Parts of our soul, or vital essence can fragment. A soul retrieval recaptures these lost soul parts, bringing them back into our energy field and our awareness. Doing so re-balances our energies and allows us to experience the gifts of our life.

The Extraction

The Extraction process involves removing heavy energies that have become crystallized and embedded into the luminous energy field.  An Illumination is performed afterwards to ensure that similar energies are not drawn into the luminous energy field again.

Despachos

Despachos are prayer bundles that help us to energetically release what no longer serves us, while at the same time acting as a magnet attracting to us what does serve.

The Great Rites of Passage

The Great Rites of Passage are the major transitions that all people pass through in life such as adulthood, marriage, parenthood, and sagehood.  The shaman can assist by helping a client gently release an old role and step into a new one with power and grace.  As in most of the shamanic work done at Life Winds, work done in this area begins with an Illumination.
